"I have always been interested in dancing, ever since I was a little girl. I took ballet lessons for about five years when I was younger, and have always regretted quiting." "I became fascinated with ballroom dancing when I saw the 1st season of Dancing with the Stars. I wanted to be able to dance just like the stars and professional do, but never thought it would be possible for me. It was not until my fiances, John, and I attended a bridal show that I realized that it was indeed possible. While at the bridal show we visited the Fred Astaire Studio booth and signed up to take lessons for our wedding. John and I began taking lessons to learn how to dance socially and to learn a dance for our 1st dance, but I quickly fell in love with dancing. I now not only want to dance socially, but also want to compete in dance competitions. I am excited to get dressed up in the fancy dresses and doing my hair and make-up." "I love to dance! I look forward to going to my dance lessons and the groups [classes] after a hard day of work. For me, dancing is a stress outlet. I look forward to the parties on Fridays after a long stressful work week. Dancing has given me more self-confidence and is a great way to exercise and lose weight. I have made so many new friends and the staff is wonderful. They are very encouraging and help you perfect your dance and technique. The biggest reason I dance is because dancing makes me happy. I look forward to learning more and becoming a great dancer." Thanks Valerie, and all our great students that make our studio what it is! |
