Get StartedSimply pick up the phone and call us at 614-890-9790 (or email us) now and get scheduled. The studio hours are generally 12:30pm to 10:15pm, Monday through Thursdays; 12:30pm to 8:45pm on Fridays (our weekly Practice Party is at 9:00pm); and Saturdays and Sundays by appointment - so scheduling at your convenience is very easy to do.

All beginning or new Students start off with 2 introductory private lessons that are 30 minutes each, where you meet with an Instructor and become introduced to the school, and includes a 15 minute consultation regarding your social dance goals.

Generally at this point, students enroll onto a special reduced rate Introductory course (4 Private lessons, Group lessons and Practice Parties) to develop a plan and program to get you to the goal you are after in your dancing - while allowing our staff to find out the best way to teach you and work out a program that is tailor-made just for you.

Call 614-890-9790 for our current introductory course specials. Read on to find for a few frequently asked questions and answers.

What time can I take my lessons?

The first step to dancing, is scheduling your first private session. Just call us at 614-890-9790 and set up an appointment at your convenience. We are open Monday – Friday 12:30pm - 10:15pm. We also offer instruction Saturday and Sunday by appointment.

How soon will I be able to dance?

Under the Fred Astaire System of dance instruction, you will be up on your feet and dancing in your very first lesson. We begin by teaching you the basic steps of the most popular dances so that, within a very short time, you will have the confidence to get out on the dance floor.

How should I dress for my lesson?

Comfort and class is what we encourage. Comfortable leather soled shoes dance best on our ballroom floor (we have many styles of dance shoes available for purchase at our studio). Any type of sling-backs, tennis shoes or boots are discouraged. Practice wear and dance shoes are available for purchase in our dance apparel department.

Do I need a partner?

No. We teach both singles and couples here at Fred Astaire Dance Studios. If you come in as one of our single students, your instructor will be your partner for your private lessons, and our groups and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunity to meet other students with the same interests and goals.

What types of dances do you offer?

We offer all partnership dances. From waltz, tango, cha cha, salsa to country & western and swing and club dancing. (Click here for our full list.) We can help you with your wedding dance, all your social dance needs and basically any dance done with a partner.

What types of lessons do you offer?

We offer private, group and practice sessions, a unique three way system of teaching developed by Fred Astaire Dance Studios in 1947. It is proven to develop the finest ballroom dancers the nation has to offer

  • In a private lesson, you will be taught one-on-one by an instructor. Everything is special tailored to your need.
  • A group lesson focuses on the pattern of the dances and the technical skill. It is the fastest way to learn new steps.
  • At a practice session or party, you have the chance to go out on the dance floor and try out all the material you learned in your lessons. It is a great way to socialize and meet new friends. Our professional instructors are there to help you around the dance floor. Practice sessions are held every Friday @ 9pm at our studio.

How much will it cost to learn to dance?

The cost will depend on the level of proficiency you want to have, how well you pick up and retain the material and how quickly you want to progress. We tailor a program to meet your individual goals and budget.

So, don’t be shy and make that first step to call us at 614-890-9790 or email us now! Walk in and waltz out.
